hi!
so i’m going to be the snow miser for halloween, and i needed a hat to look like this. so after some searching, i decided it would be easier to knit it than to find something fitting. so here’s a photo of me in my “ice hair”. i’ll post a picture of the two of us in our costumes after halloween!
thanks to everyone for your help with finding a good pattern and attaching the points!
the heat miser and snow miser are two characters from an old christmas animation called “the year without a santa claus”. they’re brothers, sons of mother nature, and the heat miser is all firey and likes everything to be at least 100 degrees, while the snow miser is all icy and likes everything to be below freezing. i knit the scarf i’m going to wear too (dark blue and light blue stripes)! photos soon…
What a great Hat. A few years ago I went as the snow miser while my Husband was the heat miser. This was before I knew how to knit and I had to wear a plastic bowl on my head that looked like ice. Your hat is so much better!!! Can not wait to see you in full costume!
and finally, here’s the photo of our outfits! i was supposed to have blue gloves, but i was trying to sew them out of the same fabric that i made the shoe coverings out of, and failed miserably, and didn’t see any i felt were worth spending money on. so i went without. and i was supposed to have a prosthetic nose, and i COMPLETELY forgot it sitting at home on the counter, not realizing till we were at the party! oh well. i knit the scarf and the ice hair-hat, and i made the outer hat out of cardboard, just a little too small to sit on my head well, so it’s basically balancing on the lump my hair made in the first hat. definitely a learning curve in these art projects!
