FO: Elizabeth Zimmerman's baby "surprise" sweater

Hiya! This is my first “garment” of any kind. As some of you may know, it is knit in one piece and then seamed along the shoulders. I just took a 4-week knitting class that was centered on knitting this sweater. And now…it’s all done!

The best part is that I’m pregnant…so now I’ll have someone to wear it! I can’t attach the buttons until I know if it will be for a girl or a boy (the project is knit with buttonholes on both sides).

I’m also attaching a picture of my cat wearing the sweater…lol.

Knit on size 6 needles with Encore DK in a lovely buttery yellow color.

It looks fabulous! Isn’t it fun to knit?!

And OMG…that cat! :roflhard::roflhard::roflhard::roflhard:

I think that cat is really posin. That cat says “yeah…I look good.” Nice job

Too cute!

(sweater and cat as well)

:teehee: I love the cat!!!

Great job on the sweater… :woot:Congrats!!

That cat pic is sooooo funny

Cute sweater. Your cat looks good in it. :teehee:

Aren’t those amazing sweaters? Your cat looks adorable modelling it too! Congratulations on your upcoming addition too!

great work on the sweater!! that has been on my to-do list for a while. i absolutely love your cat…i might have to steal him.

Good job. :cheering:

Poor kitty…My cat wouldn’t put up with that.

Yours looks great, And you can make more as your baby grows. I made one in worsted weight and it fits my 18 month old grand daughter. I did it in odds and ends of my leftovers so it is quite funky.

Nice sweater!!! That cat is the best. I can just see the LOLcat now: “Oh Hay… I’m in ur sweater imitatin ur baby”

Oh, and congratulations!

congrats!!!

I joined the BSJ yahoo group they have helpful files!!!
:blooby:

Congratulations !!! :cheering: Your baby sweater is lovely. And your cat… your cat is workin’ that camera!

Thanks to everyone for your compliments!!! :yay: You all are so sweet.

It really WAS fun to knit. We got this extra printout with her newsletter pattern that had row-by-row instructions – it made it MUCH easier to follow (for me, lol) and it was so much fun to knit.

The cat (his name is Claw) didn’t seem to care when I put the sweater on him and then rolled him onto his back to take the pic, lol. I just love him.

HAHAHAHA. Oh my gosh, That cat is so funny. That is like my kitty cat (his name is double trouble). He just lets me do whatever i want with him (nothing mean, i just like to dance with him and hug him and such)
That’s a nice sweater and i bet the second the baby is born you’ll say “oh, FINALLY… go get the sweater”

Claw is wonderful, what a performer. Hope the baby likes the beautiful sweater as much as the cat.

Great job!

Good job!

I probably need to go to some knitting class too.

Kiss to Claw.

Tamar

What a great sweater and the cat is simply a top model! In which of EZ’s books is the sweater?

Nice job on your first project! It is adorable and you have one fancy cat there! When you get ready to buy buttons, try this place. It has a spectacular selection. Oh, and last but certainly not least, CONGRATS ON THE PREGNANCY!!! I know you must be thrilled.
