OH MY, Jan! THANKS so very much for researching the magazine!
So way cool! Thanks for the links, too! :muah:

absolutely gorgeous!! you will have to model for it once it gets cold

Hey Scout! :waving: Yes, I will model it for ya when the cold weather gets rolling. It was just too hot to dress up in turtleneck, chenille skirt, boots and cape yesterday! Plus, I wasn’t feeling well, and looked it! On top of that, my hair needs a trim, my foil need sprucing up…and I generally just look lousy. Not camera-worthy at all! :eyebrow:

Once again, beautiful! :inlove:

Beautiful work!!! I love the colors  I think that a matching beret and bag (if you have enough) will be really classy!

Dear Art Lady, YOU certainly could not look like you said. You are beautiful and your work is spectacular. I should look half as good. Keep rolling.

Yeah, I found a beret style hat pattern in my stash, and a great bag pattern. It’s call a BOOT BAG. Not the ususal BOOGA BAG. It’s really stylish. With 8 buttons on each side…and a chain for a handle. Have you seen it? Its on the cover of a BAG STYLE book by Interweave Press.

Most of it is felted, however the middle panel, with the 8 buttons, is knit separately, not felted, and sew onto the middle of the felted bag. So you have 2 textures. This book is will worth the investment. It has so many unusual, easy and styish bags. Bags that don’t look ‘crafty’. Something you could carry as an executive of some sort (which I’m NOT), or as an ART CONSULTANT (which I am)! :teehee:

Anyways, with the cape being so rustic in appearance, I thought it would be a nice contrast to make the bag more upbeat.

The bag is knit with double strands of Tahki Donegal Tweed…so my cape yarn (bulky weight) will work single stranded. I am anxious to make it.

The Ravelry software (on each stash page…it automatically converts your total gram weight to yards!)…anyway, the software says I have 380.6 yards remaining of HAZELNUT; 204.6 yards of TRAPPER; and 143 yards of DEEP CHOCOLATE. More than enough for a bag…so a hat will be a possibility, too. Wait til I get done with the bag…then re-weigh the leftover yarns on my Weight Watcher scale (in grams)…and see how many yards remain! Automatically! I love that Ravelry software!

If my math is right, the BOOT BAG will take about 275 yards single stranded. Tahki Donegal Tweed takes 3 skeins of 183 yds each.

it is soooooo pretty!

Gorgeous work as always, Dollyce…I especially like the buttons you chose - they really make the cape! :inlove:

My name is Dollyce and I’m a button-o-holic!

I love buttons, and IMHO the right buttons are the icing on the cake! The wrong buttons are such a distraction!
If you look at a sweater, and the first thing you see are the buttons, then chances are the buttons are too much, over the top or just plain OFF.

that’s fantastic. You do such a great job with colors, too, that I always like yours better than the modeled item. Beautiful as always!

One question: do you knit in your sleep? You are such a prolific knitter.
This is reminding me that I have a cape pattern (vintage 70’s) that I’d like to do someday. Capes are cool. Sort of reminds me of something Emma Peel in the 60’s TV show “The Avengers” would wear. Classy.

I knit when others are sleeping! :teehee: I knit every night from 9pm til 3am…and I sleep from 3am til 9am! And let it be known…I fall asleep by 3:01am!

I couldn’t knit like this when our 5 children were home, of course.
I am in awe of the young KH mothers who find time to knit and raise their families! And, also…of working moms who not only raise children, but hold a day job as well! They are the real Wonder Women!

Well, something good comes with being 59…all the kids are out of the nest…and by this time…the DH is an ‘easy keeper’!
I’ve always said, “The man who lives harmoniously with a knitter is a SAINT!”

Here is my Saint!

:inlove: That looks GREAT! I hope I can knit like that after the kids are gone…

Good job, ArtLady!! It’s very nice. Artsy.
