Has anyone flown with thier knitting supplies recently? What are the restrictions? I have a 4.5 hour flight this weekend and I’d love to pass the time knitting, but I might need to cut my yarn. I have those little scissors that fold into the handles, but I doubt those are allowed. I also have metal needles. Are those okay?
I feel pretty stupid asking these questions, so please be gentle with me. THANKS!
It’s not a stupid question. I’ve flown many times and never had a problem. I carry little kid rounded tip scissors with me and my Knitpicks Options which are metal. I only carry on the one project, scissors and yarn and the rest of my supplies go into my checked bag.

Thank you. I saw that on teh TSA website, but it is also up to the agents working, so I thought I’d ask. I want to bring two projects since I mihgt get stuck and have to stop.
I’m fine if they take the little scissors (they are under 1 inch so they should be fine), but I’d be upset about losing my needles. I am working on a scarf with size 13 circs that were hard to find! I could only find metal ones. My other needles are addi turbos.
I havne’t investing in a full set of KnitPicks yet…I have one set that really like.
THANKS again!
I have heard of several people flying successfully with knitting in the US.
I just had a flight here in Germany that the Airline website told frankly: no knitting needles in carry on. That was sad. But at least it was communicated and I did not bring any knitting - and suffered from the day lost
