Flip flop or sandal pattern for babies

I have been using knittinghelp.com for about 5 years, reading here all the time and taking advantage of everyones knowledge, but I’m new to using the forums and I need help! I have two grandbabies on the way, a little girl in May, and a little boy in June. My daughter-in-law found pictures of newborn flip flops on Pintarest, but they were all crocheted! Does anyone here have a pattern, or would anyone be willing to help me make a pattern? Can it even be done?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Grandma Holly

Oh, good, another grandma! Hi and welcome. Flip flops for a baby? Can you link to the picture?

Hopefully this will work, it’s a link to the page where she found one of the flipflops

I searched for this on Ravelry just a week or so ago and found lots of patterns for sandals for both knit and crochet. Have a look there and then see if you still need some help.

P.S. I believe that most of the ones I saw were for sale, but, hey, two grandbabies are worth the money, right?

Those are cute! Thanks for the link, I wasn’t quite getting the idea of flip flops for babies. Congratulations on the grandbabies on the way!

A quick search at ravelry.com for sandals (flip flops for babies came up nothing) got this: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#craft=knitting&query=sandals&page=1&view=captioned_thumbs&fit=baby&sort=popularity I don’t know if any of them are what you want. Not to say you should crochet them, but if you do crochet you might want to try them crocheted. The crochet patterns seem to be easier to find.

I will post the link after i post this it won’t let me do it until i post 1 time!

hope this helps u this should be the pattern that u are looking for. i saw them and fell in love with them also and searched and found this in french and was able to get it converted to english and get this!:woot:

These aren’t the kind that slip between the toes but they look like they have a chance of staying on baby feet.

salmonmac, those are too sweet! I’ve wondered why crocheted ones wouldn’t do but the OP might not crochet. Those would be worth learning to crochet for.

I have that pattern and I have made those before. They are very easy to make.

Kids shoes would be adorable! I haven’t seen a knitted pattern for them, only crochet ones too, but I definitely think it can be done.
