fixing a wrong stitch that are multiple rows down...

I found that I made a mistake on one knit stitch which was meant to be purled. The problem is the stitch is way down below, almost like 10 cm down. If I unravel the specific row to try to fix one single stitch, would it be too noticeable or make the whole row go wobbly after I fix? or would it be better to just leave it?

What I would do is knit (or purl) your way over so that your next stitch is right above the wonky one. Then VERY CAREFULLY, unknit that one and the one underneath it all the way down to Mr Wonky Stitch. Fix that one and then so on (back up the ladder) until you get back up to your current row. Proceed to put your stitch on your left hand needle and then keep on going!

so you would go for fixing rather than leaving it! Okay

Sorry, I thought u were asking how to fix it. If it’s not very noticeable I might leave it. Like if it’s near the beginning or at the edge of something where the “untrained eye” would skim over it.

But if it’s right smack in the middle of the front of a sweater or something like that then I might go ahead and fix it.

Sometimes I spread my project out on my bed and ask one of my children if they “notice anything”. I also step back and try to decide if it’s noticeable or not.

Could u post a picture of it??

Ah no worries. I managed to fix it eventually. I just never done unknitting so many rows before and feared I might end up unraveling everything or having funny shapes or something. It wasn’t that noticeable but I just couldn’t bear that its there :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for the advice!

Oh I understand. That’s why I ask my kids what they think. Cuz if they notice it then I figure I better fix it.

I just finished a light grey afghan and after I bound off I noticed a place right in the center where the yarn switched to black for a couple of sts. I decided to call it a “design flaw”. Like I planned it that way! And no way was I going to undo it halfway!! I’m happy with it and I hope its owners like it too!

I’m glad u got it taken care of!
