Ther only thing I’ve done in 4 weeks that resemble what you’ve done,
is buy a couple big piles of yarn.[/color]

Beautiful work, Amanda!! Can’t believe you’ve only been knitting for a month!! Love your stash photos, too!!

After 4 weeks you have been busy! I love what you have started and love your stash! Look forward to seeing more!

Wow, impressive!!

Well, you really jumped in feet first, didn’t you? Good for you, and here’s to fearless knitters

Just incredible! Amazing! Fantabulous!

Thanks everyone … I say 4 weeks because although I learnt to knit when I was younger, it was just rows and rows of knit and a few of purl - never cast on or off and never had a FO, just left over wool from my mum, lots of holes etc. This is my first real knitting … if it runs in the family then I could be a natural cos my Mum is v.v. good. I can also sew and bake so maybe it is a domesticated thing!

I’ve also tried cables, (much easier than I thought) so the scarf I do for my brother will probably be part cable / part stitch sampler - I want to try basket weave, moss stitch and all the different stitches that are in the Knitting Bible - so many to choose from, not enough things to knit!!

Well, unfortunately No 2 son is ill today, so I can’t go to work :crying: BUT it means I can spend most the day :XX: :XX: :XX:

My new book ‘last minute knitted gifts’ is due to arrive today so I will have to try to stop myself ordering the wool for it!

I wish I had thought to do this a few years ago …

My husband loves woodworking and other home-improvement projects and when he buys tools (and tools and tools and tools) I always say it’s way cheaper than therapy! This also makes it pretty easy to justify my knitting purchases (go price out a table saw and compare that to some knitting needles!)

Sooooo you are off to a great start in no time flat…plus the therapy benefit!

Everything looks wonderful. Hard to believe you’ve only been knitting 4 weeks! I especially like the tubey!
