First bootie

This is the first bootie (another palate cleanser from the baby blanket I’m 2/3 through) - it just took me one evening and was really, really fun!!
I used #3 straight needles for the main body and #2 needles for the cuff. The yarn is Cascade Yarns 220 Sport in colorway 900 and colorway 1946 (I can’t tell you which is the light gray and which is the dark, sorry)

I can tell this baby will be the recipient of lots of knitted goodies, starting with booties, booties and more booties!

Cute! And neatly made.

Nicely done! These booties are so cute and have the advantage of staying on baby’s feet because of the generous cuff.

I appreciate the kudos, salmonmac and Creations - once again, I need to figure out a stretchier bind off, because the bind off in pattern (1x1 rib) is a bit tight. I think it will be fine for the newborn size (which this is) but for the next sizes I want to use something that provides more give.

I love the sewn bind off. It requires sitting somewhere quiet and a bit of concentration to begin but it’s lovely and stretchy. Liat Gat recommends it for the cuff on socks.
