This pattern has a thumb “hole”. I got the bind off for it and I “thought” I “got” the cast on, but I guess I was wrong. I did a cable cast on from the buttonhole video and all looked good, but I must have knit “backwards” because it looks like I’m not “connected”. And then to make things worse I tried to frog it to fix it and now I have a BIG LOOP of yarn that I don’t know what to do with. Am I going to have to frog it back before the bind off? Will that be difficult to do? I’m so FRUSTRATED! :hair:
I’m not really sure where your big loop came from, but you could unknit back to where you bound off, or maybe just until the big loop goes away.
When you cast on over the bound off stitches, they won’t really be ‘connected’ until you start knitting the stitches on the other needle. Sometimes it helps to cast on 2 extra stitches, and when you get to the opening on the next round, work two together at the beginning and end of the thumbhole. It will tighten up any holes that might happen.
Thanks! I know I just have to set it aside and look at it fresh in the morning. And in the morning I can take it to my friend at the library and hopefully she can help me figure it out. It’s just so frustrating. It was going so well until now!
