Just ran across this technique, and because I like to try everything I discover in knitting, I want to give it a shot. Supposed to be very easy… Anyone have a pattern/directions for maybe a quick scarf? What kind of yarn? I’m thinking bulky?
THis is done on the fingers, so consequently can only be 4 fingers wide (5 if you use your thumb). You could do a narrow scarf in eyelash yarn rather nicely.
Start by weaving yarn in and out of four fingers until there are 2 loops on front of each finger. *Pass the bottom loop over the top loop and off each finger. Lay the yarn across the fingers, treating it as the top loop. Repeat from *
Is this the type of finger knitting that produces a tube, with large hole stitches?
My ex taught me how to finger knit once and I think this is how it worked, and I had forgotten how to do it, so thanks for the directions!
I made 2 scarves last night and 1 this morning. What fun! Obviously very limited technique, but with the right yarn (I used Caron’s Bliss) it was so simple, relaxing, sensual that it was actually therapeutic. Taught 2 co-workers, and they enjoyed it too. I could see doing 1000s of these as donations if there was anyplace that would take them.
