Fiber Trends Clogs - The ULTIMATE RESOURCE

Its so precious that you have such a close and loving family. :inlove:

Kelly - your clogs look great! I have the pattern, but I need more yarn. Guess Knitpicks is the way to go… I made fuzzy feet last year using Cascade 220 and Peruvian Wool from Elann, but these clogs take so much more, I’d go broke trying to use these brands again.

I like KALs. It’s about time I did one here!

Carol

I need some pushing! My needles are still sitting in the same place that I left them this morning. SOMEONE motivate me!!! :help:

Imagine Rod Stewart singing “Tonight’s the Night”… Ingrid’s going to felt her clogs…She just has to sew one more sole seam…Cross your fingers. . …

The WOTA is just SO cheap & it felts up SO nicely!

AMP…GET GOIN!!!

Ahem, imagine Annie singing “Tomorrow, Tomorrow”

Can you imagine the nerve of my daugher using the washer for laundry! Some people!

oo yay ingrid! you can do it! Just go slow.

I wonder how these would work in the knitpicks merino. It’s so much softer and less fuzzy. It’s also less sturdy… hmmm…

COME ON AMP!!! I have done at LEAST a row and a half since I got up this morning

anxiously awaits a felting update from Ingrid :waving:

I finished one of my clogs! :happydance:

I am so impressed with myself. I didn’t think I was capable of doing it. The only other “real” pattern that I have done is the Booga bag.

Thank you guys for convincing me I could do it!

I’m going to try and finish the sole on the second clog before I go to bed… goodnight!

ok, ok, ok,…I want to play…what online vendors has this pattern and I have to order my yarn and I have a gazillion things to do 1st…BUT I LOVE THOSE CLOGS!!!..SOMEBODY tell me which online vendor and how much yarn I need…please…now!!!
i’m impatient…

I got mine from www.knittingzone.com (per silvers reccomendation) and I was sooooooo pleased with them. I ordered it on a friday night (really late) and I got it on Tuesday morning at like 8:30am! :happydance:

It is really such a fun pattern to do.

THANK YOU KELLYK!!! (you are the one who started this whole craze!) :balloons:

Kelly!! Your clogs look fantastic! So what was all that mumbo jumbo about mine looking so “perfect”? Yours are perfect too, so there!
:cheering:

Now… go knit YOUR heavenly potholder!

Eh…phoo on BOTH of ya!

Hildie was brilliant enough to make a KAL out of it, and Al’s clogs are lumpy.

I’m the newbie here.
You ladies are doing a fantastic job. Those clogs are beautiful. I finally got my pattern and been reading it. I decided to type up the size for me which is the smallest. This way I don’t have to look at all the other sizes, might make it easier for me to follow. I bought only 1 of each of the yarns in cascade 220. I might have to buy more. I will make the smaller size 6. I will keep reading your messages to learn from your experiences. Hope I don’t have a problem. I’m still working on my luster sheen cap top. I just finished the front.
Good luck girls. Rebecca

I’m making the size 6 too. I think you are going to need 3 hanks of the cascade 220. I am doing the two colored and I am using 2 for the sole/cuff and one for the upper part.

The pattern looks really overwhelming but if you just read one line at a time its ok. (I think KellyK told me that!) I use blank pieces of paper to cover up everything except for the line that I am working on so that I don’t start looking ahead and get frustrated!

The pattern looks overwhelming until you realize that there are so many short rows.

Felting coming soon–as soon as I put away the groceries. 8:45 pm here, sheesh!

Hi
I’m also going to make the clogs in two colors, the dark gray and the light. Thanks, yes Silver told me I would need more but the lady at the yarn shop told me to start with one of each and if I needed more to get more. I also have the magnetic board and the magnets to cover the line I work on. I hope I typed it right or I will make a mess for sure lol. It’s hard for me to read the pattern with that dark blue background. I will ask my hubby to check to make sure I didn’t type extra stuff for trying to make my life easier. It’s my first attempt and I’m terrified. Is this yarn easy to unrevel? in case of screw ups.

I have a little story to tell. About 8 years or so, I finally decided to get a computer and the reason for it was to get online and find ladies that knitted, crochet, did crafts etc. Well I signed up at different sites and the only ones that responded for some reason were Survivors of Domestic Violence. They begged me to write, I guess they were just looking for friends. Well, I was lonely also and being that I’m a Survivor myself, I wrote back.

After several months of emailing this lovely ladies, I found out how many people out there are or have been victims. I ended up very depressed to say the least, and they convinced me to make a site for Domestic Violence Survivors, and I had to learn. Took about a year but I got them up. That was a long story made short. Sorry guys. But wanted to share this.

Now that I was not looking for ladies that knit, I found this lovely site. I’m so happy and excited to have found such a lovely group and the videos that Amy has and for FREE. I couldn’t believe my luck. I’m so greatful. Rebecca

Welcome to the party! Its a happy place with people who are more than happy to help every step of the way!

I just finished my first clogs last night and their in the wash now. The pattern was not at all difficult, and the yarn and needles are large enough to take out if you need to. Once you are working on the top part its very easy to tell if you are doing it correctly, you’ll see.

I’ll be back in a few with an update.

Blueslady - Do you have a scanner or photocopier? I was able to photocopy mine because in the lighting that I use when knitting, it was very difficult to read with the blue background.

I made a couple of size 6’s and in both cases needed more than 1 skein of each color. Are you not going to double the yarn? If you’re not, you might be okay.

Good luck! (I’m looking at colors right now - so difficult for me to make a decision!)

Carolyn

:happydance: :happydance: I’ve got clogs!! :happydance: :happydance:

It took a while and I had a few hairy moments, but they’re done and they’re magnificent! Well, almost, just a Seinfeld thing.

I think they took longer than I expected because the first batch of water in the washer wasn’t as hot as it could have been. (Room temp. water in the pipes, I guess.) Then when I opened to check the first time, my pillow case was empty–didn’t tie it tight enough. They had escaped.

So I took them out, drained and refilled the washer, added more clothes, tied the case tighter and voila!

I really need to get a digital camera. :?

So one down, definitely two more to go, maybe four.
