ahh thank you both for telling me that!
I am TERRIFIED to ask this questionā¦someone mentioned Lopi as a āmistakeāā¦is that because of the cost? or the fact that it doesnāt felt.
I am making this messenger bag, the pattern called for 6 ballsā¦I am well into the 4th, and there is NO way Iāll have enoughā¦so I know I"ll have to go out and get moreā¦PLEASE tell me it is expensive, and it felted up beautifully, you just wish you got WOTA instead???
pretty pleaseā¦
(BUTā¦tell me trueā¦lolā¦)
Lopi can be a bit itchy - so for a garment it would not be the best, but for a messenger bag, I think it would be fabulous. Knit on!
Heather ā¦
I understand that Lopi felts quite nicely, as a matter of fact hereās a pattern for a bag made w/ Lopi. It looks pretty darn felted to me!!
Oh, and correct me if Iām wrong, Ingrid, but itās only animal fibers that felt, right???
yes, only animal fibersā¦and THANK YOU!!! I can go to the yarn store with confidence todayā¦lolā¦
i said it was a mistake because i didnāt like the way it felted. it wasnāt firm and it was quite itchy. it was Lopi Reynolds and it was $5.95/skein
I think youāre right. Some blends say their feltable, but I donāt know more than what they claim on the label.
Well, I guess I meant blends that include animal fibers.
Iāve felted Lion Brand Landscapes yarn before ā it felts quite well. I was disappointed, though, w/ the way my Karaoke felted. I should add, though, that I have a front-load washing machine. It might felt better in a top-loader.
