Hi I’m nearly finished knitting a purse and am ready to felt it. Should I sew on the handles before I felt or after? also should I use a certain solution in the washing machine to felt it in?
I went to the area for vidoes to do the I cord, it was great. thanks

I always attach the handles before felting…I think it makes for a sturdier join. Just don’t do it too tight so it has some room to felt.
You don’t need anything in the machine but some put in just a bit of detergent.
I sew the handles on too before I felt.
I always put a little laundry soap in the washer. I put the item to be felted in a laundry bag (this way all the wool that comes off the item won’t mess up my machine) and throw a 2 or 3 pairs of jeans in too. Make sure the water is set on the hottest setting you have. Don’t put the water level up too high. And check it every 5 minutes or so until it gets to be the way you want it.
