So I feel so empty now that I am done with these:
I LOVE making these, but I can’t justify spending the money on the wool yarn ($8-10/skein) to make them. Perhaps a little ebay shopping is due…

Have you thought about trying WOTA from Knitpicks?? Its 1.79 per skein and felts beautifully…LOTS of us have used it for clogs, bags, etc…
schmidge those are gorgeous! I have a weakness for felted bags !
Those are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! I used WOTA on my felted bags, here is a photo of my Booga bag. See, WOTA felts nicely and inexpensively
Those a very nice looking felted bags. I am hoping to get one started soon. And yes, noticing how much yarn and $ per skein, I was thinking that adds up to a bit, doesn’t it. I might just try the WOTA.
Did you say you did single strand with no ill effect? I’ve never knitted with two strands so I was wondering if doing that is harder. Is that why you did single?
Oooh, I love the bags–the colors are fab, too. So rich!
I can’t wait until my WOTA arrives and I can start my booga…
I love your bags great job
Knitting with two strands is no big whoop. Like any new knitting skill, you fall into comfort with it…and this you fall into more quickly!
If you single-strand it, you are going to end up with a thinner, wimpier Booga…
About the WOTA…if you REALLY like th colorways of Noro (and who doesnt??) you may consider knitting just the bottom and first couple inches of the sides with WOTA and then switch to Noro…you’ll only use 1/2 the Noro that way, thus saving moolah!
those are gorgeous!
That is a great idea! I know it’s been mentioned before, but I kind of forgot about it.
Also, you can get Noro cheaper from www.woolneedlework.com
