Does anyone know how to make felted sheep to be put on a felted purse? Or any felted applique directions/procedures for putting on a bag? I have an idea in mind for a bag, but I can’t seem to find the right instructions.
Felted appliques for bags
well i don’t know how to make a little sheep but if you are interested in doing any needle felting there is a cute idea for needle felting a sheep on a bag. You can see the Fiber Trends tote that has it on there to get the idea.
Needle felting is pretty easy and i find it kind of soothing…all that stabbing of needles is a good way to keep from stabbing your boss ya know! 
Could you not just knit a square in stockinette stitch, felt it and cut out the sheep shape?
Then you’d get the right size and everything and one part of the knitted shape wouldn’t shrink more than another one would.
Just a thought. 
You can use a die cut machine (Ellison/Sizzix) to cut out a shape from a felted piece. I felt all my wool swatches for this. Then, you can needle felt it right onto the bag. You could probably even add a 3D effect by adding more roving and felting it onto the cut out… ? brenda? I just got the Fiber Trends needle felting kit to use for just that, but have not used it yet.
I actually thought of that a few days ago, but dismissed it. I am glad to hear that it is a workable option. I think this is what I am going to do. Thanks!!
