I’ve searched the web…knittingpatterncentral, etc, etc, etc. I can’t find a beanie pattern for a man that I really like.
I guess the London beanie is as close as I can get to what I want. So I was wondering "What is your favorite beanie pattern (for a man)?
Also does anyone know of a good beanie with a brim pattern?
My favorite beanie is the Fake Isle hat (on KPC), and it can look manly depending on the yarn you use. I also recently made a plain beanie similar to the Fake Isle hat, but without the color work. I was going to make it with the fair isle, but the black CC didn’t really show up against parts of my striping MC. I think any plain beanie can look like a good masculine cap if you choose the right colors.
Here’s a pic of my “manly” Kureyon hat, which only takes one skein:

What pattern did you use for your “manly beanie”? I like the fake isle hat, but I can’t read charts. I have a learning disability that doesn’t allow me to read charts, maps, graphs, etc.
Actually I used the same pattern for the Fake Isle Hat, except I used only one color instead of doing the charts. So for the first chart, I just worked that many rounds without doing any coloring. And I looked at the second chart to figure out the decreases and wrote down a regular pattern for that. I did it in the small size, and maybe it’d be easier to just type out what I did. It may seem a little split up (like I’ll say knit six rounds, and the next direction may say knit 13 rounds, but it makes more sense to me to do it that way, as you can easily see where you are in the original pattern).

That’s the pattern for the manly Kureyon hat I made. Good luck!
I have made 3 london beanies all for men and now I have several requests for more (also from men). After my first one I started to alter the pattern a bit, mainly the size and amount of stripes. Here is a link to the beanie I made though the one in the picture looks taller/longer than the ones I made.
