Is there a tip or secret to Entrelac that I am missing? I am not new to knitting and yet I seem incapable of grasping this. I’ve watched videos and printed out blogs. I am just trying to do a dishcloth right now to learn the technique and I have had to rip it out 3 times. I need something to knit and I don’t really need another pair of socks !!!
I think the most difficult thing about entrelac is the side triangles. I’ve looked at this tutorial from KnittingDaily in the past and thought it was pretty clear. You have to sign up to get it (sorry about that) but it seems to do a good job.
Thank you ! I am actually already signed up for knitting daily so that was easy. I downloaded it and there is instructions for entrelac boot socks if I ever get this figured out.
I understand that entrelac in the round, if that’s how these are knit, is easier than knitting flat because you don’t have the side triangles.
I used this book from the library to learn. http://www.knitpicks.com/cfBooks/Book_Display.cfm?ID=32606&media=PPCgpGen&gclid=CjwKEAiAo7C2BRDgqODGq5r38DsSJAAv7dTPB0UiNXMDDRehUGQZwR5hnJnhwQKbbh0eLaihypJwaxoCIYDw_wcB&utm_source=media&utm_medium=marketing&utm_campaign=PPCgpGen
I like this b/c it takes you step-by-step with photos. If it weren’t for the photos I don’t think I would have gotten it either. I worked my pieces flat but from what I understand, in the round is easier. I don’t mind working the side triangles.
Hope this helps
I’ll have to check that out. Thank you !
It’s funny - I’m at the library all the time with my kids and yet it has never occurred to me to look for knitting books there.
It’s a good source for knitting books, some that you may decide to purchase.
I just came across this video which seems like a clear one for entrelac.
