I cast on 200 stitches and have made the 25 triangles with an 8 stitch base as directed … now I’m on my second row group of rectangles. Row 1 on WS with yarn in front - I am to pick up 8 stitches PURLWISE. I know how to pick up stitches knitwise and but am UNSURE about picking up stitches purlwise.
Do I insert the needles from the back (which would be the front side) to the front (which is the wrongside) and then purl pulling the yarn back through from the wrongside to the rightside? Thanks in advance. I tried searching threads and looking around for a video but had no luck.

Yep, that’s it. When picking up stitches, imagine the already knit piece as your left needle and you `knit’ or ‘purl’ the stitches just as if they really were on the left needle.
Thanks Suzeeq … I’ll give it a try in the morning when I’m more alert. I really dislike being on the wrong end of learning curves but “that’s the way it goes”. Sitting here in Minnesota watching CNN this morning, it was a bit NERVE wracking to see tornadoes so damn close to Loveland, CO. Hope all is well with you in Wyoming since I heard bad weather was heading toward Laramie.
Yeah it touched on Laramie but went NW and I’m NE of there. Couple weeks ago, we had a baby tornado here at the edge of town. It gently lifted up the rear of a guy’s car and set it down. No real damage; we have wind storms that do worse than that.
