have been working pattern in stock stich. now it calls for an edge stitch at beg and end of next rows. any help?
An edge stitch is an extra stitch at each end, usually worked in st st and used for seaming.
Are you about to begin a pattern stitch? Most patterns include the edge stitch in the pattern, and are pointing out that there is an edge stitch. Sometimes they don’t include it in the stitch count, but tell you that pretty specifically.
What exactly does your pattern say?
been working in stockinette. pattern says…
Patt with dropped sts:
(rs): edge st, *K1, yho, rep from *, edge st.
(ws): edge st, ddrop yo, P1, rep from *, edge st.
It looks like it’s included. Just knit that stitch on the right side and purl on the wrong side.
