It is just not clear to me what the actual tension guage should be for this particular pattern. Can someone explain in plain english? (don’t mean that as an insult, more that there are almost too many explanations and the explanation they give seems generic?).
Usually patterns give a very specific guage swatch…Hope I now am being clear!
Maybe I’m missing something but it looks like gauge is 14 sts x 27 rows in garter stitch = 10 cm/4".
DROPS STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 5.5 mm - or size needed to get 14 sts x 27 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm.
Sometimes looking on the Ravelry page (when there is one) is easier or can help clarify. The location of gauge and other details will be in the expected location.

Thank you! I will work towards that guage then…
Enjoy making these.
I must apologise, upon (re) reading the pattern, I saw in the plain light of day, the guage tension.
Sometimes these things are staring us in the face. Thank you for indulging my stupidity!!

I’m often amazed at how obvious something is after someone else points it out to me. No apology needed and you’re not stupid for missing it. I did wonder if you had the same thing going on as I often do. No matter how many times I look at something I can’t see what’s right there in front of me. It happens.
