I’m a beginner and only know knit purl bind on, bind off. Are there any super super easy baby bootie patterns out there for me?
You probably will have to learn a few new things like increase/decrease or simple seams, but they aren’t hard and things like this are good to learn on.
Here’s some easy two needle booties.
My favorite pattern gets as far as the bottom of the ribbing around the ankle, then uses a few short rows to make the top of the foot. If you learn those now, on a tiny project, you’ll be glad when you want to tackle something big later.
Really, you can do just about anything if you pay attention to the pattern, use markers as much as you need to and come here and ask questions as soon as they come up We were all beginners once too, and we’ve already made all the mistakes, so nothing you do is likely to be new or surprising. We’ve all been confused, too, so whn you don’t understand something, take a look at the videos here or ask away!
Thanks all! I tried last night and my bootie looks more like a golf club protector but at least I know what I did wrong. This site rocks!!
Your description of the bootie made my husband and I laugh! I learned to make baby booties last year when I was a brand new knitter, and I produced some strange-looking things, too. Most of the trouble came from sizing; one would be huge, and the other half the size. Make sure you keep track of which needle size you use. After a few tries you will wind up with a cute pair that are the same size and will fit human baby feet!
I like doing them both at the same time. Since they’re small, separate your yarn into 2 balls and cast on 2 booties on the same needle. If you knit them at the same time, they end up the same size
I did it!! Just don’t look at the inside lol… thanks for the links, didn’t think I could do it.
Excellant! ThYou knit that very well.
Cute! You did very nicely with it. The next one should be easier.
