Holly P thank you so very much !! That is exactly the info I was looking for. I was beginning to think I was going to use the entire 1st pound of coffee in experimentation. I will try your formula tomorrow morning :woohoo:
you can BUY the arabica coffee… that’s all dunkin donuts coffee is.
Ah! Yeah, the iced coffees don’t taste that good. You’re right. But, their regular coffee is yummy!
Have you tried cleaning out your coffee maker? Unless it is new, you might need to run some vinegar through it a few times, which helps eliminate the lime buildup on the inside of the machine. That can make your coffee taste bitter, too, especially if you have hard water.
Of course, I’ll almost rather have bitter coffee than a kitchen that smells of boiling vingear, but that’s just me.
:roflhard:
No problem! Hope it works out for you!
I don’t have a coffee maker, I occasionally drink General Foods instant coffee, French Vanilla Nut and the new Mayan Chocolate. I used to be an every day Starbucks customer, I love coffee!! However last year I found out I had a type of heart arrythmia and the dr told me to cut way back on coffee, preferably none at all. Even decaf has some caffiene in it. A few weeks ago, though when I was in the store I saw some Arbuckles Pumpkin Spice coffee, and I love pumpkin spice coffee so I got it. I just put a filter in a fine mesh sieve, held it over my mug and poured the hot water slowly over it. I had about 2 tbs. for a large mug Soooo good. I miss my daily caffiene.
I didn’t realize that would make a difference in taste! We just bought a Cuisinart, and it uses the cone-shaped gold filter. We’re still trying to figure out how to get the coffee just right.
Milk frother?! Hot half and half??? OMG. That sounds soooooo good. I use half and half in my coffee, and it makes the cup go cold really quick. We’ve had a cheapo espresso machine that frothed the milk, but never our “regular” coffee pot. I might have to look into that…
OK, I am running for cover after I post this but I really, really don’t like Dunkin Donuts coffee! If I get coffee outside I will go for Starbucks every time.
My friends think i am nuts but YUCK!
We went to the mall last night and went to Williams-Sonoma. I found a little “milk frother” that looks exactly like my French press! It “froths” my cream very, very well! :woot:
Dunkin Donuts double brews their coffee. It’s one of their “secrets.”
what does that mean - they double brew?
I drink coffee sometimes, but chai is the way to go. nodnod There’s an independent coffee house in town that makes THE BEST chai I have ever had. I die of the awesome. I know that doesn’t help much with the coffee thing, but I drink oddball coffee that I order online and I always make mine a 5 of the wuss-o-meter.
Actually, I really love chai tea and both my hubby and I are big tea drinkers. I only started drinking coffee in grad school b/c the hosp didn’t want us in the cafeteria and put out free coffee for us and believe it or not if I went down to fill my mug with hot water to make tea they would give me a hard time.
I have a bottle of loose tea from whole foods and a cast iron steeping pot as well as chai tea bags in addition to an entire cupboard full of teas. Coffee is really just a diversion - maybe once a week during the winter.
From what I hear, double brewing is when they brew a pot normally and then run the coffee through the pot with the coffee where the water normally would be.
This is what I have heard, and checked the website for and couldn’t find, but I swear I saw this information up before.
