Drops Bolero in Alpaca HELP!

I am currently working on the following pattern:

I am having a bit of trouble understanding how the pattern works. I completed pattern A with no issue. My confusion is regarding where to actually start pattern B. I think the solution is rather easy, i just can’t figure it out!!

Help!!!

This part?

“Knit the next row as follows (right side row): 5 edge sts as before, 3 sts stockinette st, Pattern 1A over the following 12-18-18-24-30 sts, Pattern 1B (= 3 sts), 3-0-3-2-1 sts stockinette st and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). Continue in pattern as established”

Pattern A and B are done on the same row. K5, work 3 sts in stockinette, work pattern A over the sts for the size that you’re doing, do pattern B over 3 sts, then work stockinette sts and k1.

That part was fine. My confusion came when you move on to the second pattern. The instructions say to do chart one, one time then chart two twice. It is chart two that I can’t figure out. Where do I start that one and how does the repeat work

Okay, it says when Pat 1 is complete, work Pat 2. They both have 18 rows, so you work Pat 1, then start Pat on R 19, do all of its rows then repeat them twice. It says - “When Pattern 1 has been knit 1 time (18 rows), repeat Pattern 2 a total of 3 times (54 rows).” Then work in stockinette to measurements

Yep. I understand that.

It is the actual pattern in chart 2 that I don’t get. The instructions say that you should skip the edge stitch plus the increases in the case of a medium it I’d 6 increase and the edge(7)

It says the pattern for chart b should fall between the pattern a chart. There We 57 stitches but the chart 2has 12 which doesn’t come out right. Should I be working the chat b pattyern in the 4 stitches that are between the repeats?

Sorry about the previous post - I was looking at the sleeve instructions, not the body.

I don’t see chart b except as a subset of chart 1 - you work the 6 sts of chart 1a, then the 3 sts of chart 1b for 9 sts total, then repeat those same 6/3 sts across.

When you’ve done the 18 rows of chart 1 a/b, then you begin the 9 st, 18 rows of chart 2 and work them twice.
This note - (start Pattern 2 inside of 5 edge sts and 3 sts in stockinette st from center front edge so that the lace pattern in Pattern 2 comes between the 2 lace patterns in Pattern 1). - means you begin pattern 2 on the 9th st in from the edge which means that its lace section will end up between the lace sts from the previous rows.

Maybe CO 26 sts to try it out and see how it looks. Just do only 3 stockinette sts to begin, patt 1 a and b twice and 3 stockinette sts at the end. Do the 18 rows of that (you could actually just do 8 or 10 rows), then begin patt 2, again start after only 3 stockinette sts and do 2 repeats of that across your sts.
