Double Moss stitch

This is going to be my next project but just looking over the instructions has me a bit confused.The pattern refers to md as moss stitch double in size (ok) but what do I do when I get to the pattern part, 14 md? Is this weird?

I decided to do regular moss stitch- I actually think it will look nicer!

I found it on Ravelry where I can enlarge photos. It looks like the moss stitch double in height is used only on the borders. Differences in row gauge might make the taller moss stitch work better. Just thinking, I don’t know. I think I’ll have to try this stitch.

I was hesitant to do the double moss stitch and I was really confused because I thought moss stitch and seed stitch were the same. I didn’t want to do the selvege stitch because mine is always messy and I didn’t want to keep count of what row of the moss stitch I was on on each row. So, instead, I did seed stitch as my border about an inch and a half, and then started the angel and so far so good!
