Hi thanks for the add, I am relatively new to knitting but am not sure how to work out something I have just finished a knit row, it said to slip the last 7 stixhes on a thread, which I have done it then says TURN?? Next row says purl 5 then cast off, I am now on a purl row but it then says knit the last 17 stiches, this would surely loose the st st I have been doing, can any one understand firstly qhat I am trying to say and then how do I do it. Thanks in advance.
What is the pattern you’re doing, and is there a picture that shows the finished item? Sometimes doll clothes do use garter stitch as a design element or on hems/cuffs to prevent curling.

I think you need to cast off the 5 stitches you’ll be purling next (after you’ve purled), then rejoin to knit the remaining 17 stitches still on the needle.
