I learned to crochet when I was little and became very good at it, but I always yearned to learn knitting: I prefer the smoothness and feel of knitted fabric to crocheted.
Now that I’m learning to knit, I’m just in love with it. I still love to crochet, and have made several things recently, but I think knitting will be my permanent favorite.
My mother is a big crocheter–she taught me to crochet before I learned how to knit. I generally prefer knitting (by a lot!) to crocheting, but once in a while I’ll come across a small crocheting project that I just HAVE to do. :teehee:
:teehee: Madametj. Yeah, it seems like it did cost that much but you know what! I don’t care. I paid $40 (first he wanted $50 but he came down)
He told me he sold them ebay also and sometimes they went for less and sometimes more. I watched ebay and saw one sold for $30 but then there’s shipping $5. I was at the wool festival and it was one of those days.
I have to pick this thing up just about every day and now I’m considering getting some of his knitting needles too!
P.S. Ha, I just looked at his stuff on Ebay, his name is Grafton Fibers, a family up in Vermont I think or New Hampshire and he doesn’t have crochet hooks right now but check these out:
I can… a little bit. I can single crochett and double and that kinda stuff. I’ve never attempted a blanket or anything of that nature. I know enough to do some edging for my knitting or crochett beads onto socks (that seems to be the popular thing these days). One day I’d like to learn to do it better.
I learned to knit and crochet two summers ago when I was very, very bored. I picked up crochet a lot easier than knitting, but I enjoy knitting more. I like to crochet snowflakes for Christmas, and I made a really pretty crocheted wrap, but I prefer knitted fabric because it looks more even and drapes better.
I learned to crochet when I was about 6 I remember walking around the playground during recess in second grade with a skein of yarn and finger crocheting b/c the school wouldn’t allow crochet hooks. btw that hook is to die for I want one. I like knitted fabric better.
Oh, yeah! I can crochet–not as well as I knit, but I have my mother handy–who is a MASTER CROCHETER to help me when I get confused–more often some days than others. :teehee:
