Do not understand this pattern instruction _ HELP PLEASE!

Can some please help me with this … Just do not understand!!

  • K first stitch on needle together with corresponding stitch from marked row; rep from * to end taking care to match stitches, thus forming ridge. ??? Confused!!

There’s a previous row you did that you would have marked; fold it up to your needle (behind it) and knit the stitch on your needle together with the same stitch on the row below.

In this video, she’s purling the stitch on the needle together with a st several rows below but the idea is the same. In many ways knitting the st on the needle toegether with the one several rows below is even easier. You’ll create a welt or tuck in the fabric.
