I noticed that with factory yarn, the YPP is much higher. Even when I spin woolen I cannot match the YPP. What this means to me, is the factory is able to push more air into the yarn than when hand spinning. Probably with upgraded modern ring spinners.
This also means your getting a weaker, thinner yarn. It’s weaker and thinner with the same diameter, because there just is not as much fiber there. I know the food industry does the same types of things with their food items, making them look bigger than what really is there.
Another thing I know is the yarn factory produces zero jobs. There is only 1 person in the factory. The factory is 100% automated. Even the loading of the trucks. That type of business hurts the economy, because after they remove the money from circulation, it just sits there doing nothing.
Did you know the factory is charging about 1 cent to 2 cent per yard.
And then there is hand-spun yarn. The factory claims their yarn is hand-spun, but this is just a branding. It’s been run thru a machine.
I also know there has been blogs and articles published, to blaspheme hand-spun yarn.
