Desperately Seeking Dazzleaire

I have been making blankies for baby gifts for almost 30 years. I had a huge stash of Dazzleaire yarn that I bought from Ben Franklin before the store near me closed so I have been able to continue making blankies even though Dazzleaire has been discontinued for quite awhile. Recently I had a request from my grand nephew, now almost 6, to make him a new blankey. He calls the one I made for him before he was born “Colors”. But now his feet stick out and he needs a bigger one. I use 6 different pastel colors and have enough left of each color except Soft Pink to make a twin sized afghan for him. I need at least 2 skeins and preferably 3 skeins of the Soft Pink. They do not have to be the same dye lot. I saw some on eBay last week and bid what I thought was an inordinate amount, but I was outbid. Does anyone have three skeins of Soft Pink Dazzleaire that they would be willing to part with for an inordinate amount? Failing that, does anyone know of a fuzzy or brushed worsted weight yarn in baby pink that I could substitute?

Thanks so much for any help you can give.

I fixed your picture. That’s a beautiful blanket! Is it double knit?

Since Dazzleaire has been discontinued I don’t know anywhere except ebay.

I found this, but it turned out to be the wrong color.

I have some dazzleaire I picked up at the thrift shop, but it’s a variegated pink/gray/black/white. It’s still around, but hard to find. You might consider joining Ravelry; many people post what they have in their stash and a few have pink dazzleaire. Sometimes they’re open to selling or trading.

Thanks Jan for fixing my picture and for the instructions on how to properly post photos. And thanks for the referral to ravelry. Thanks Suseeq for letting me know about the yarn you have, but I really need the plain baby pink.

My blankies are made with a crohook. They are not exactly double knit, more knit one row and crochet one row which results in a ridged effect. If you work every other ridge with a different color, it results in the reversible effect. If anyone wants the pattern, I can send it to them by e-mail as I have it already typed in a Word document.

Thanks for your help

Right now on ebay there are 3 skeins of pink dazzleaire - it doesn’t say “baby pink”, but to look at it, it’s a very light pink - and the bid right now is $14.99 for the 3. I don’t know if that’s more than you want to pay, but thought I’d let you know.

I sent you a PM last week. Hope to hear from you soon.

BTW, I think Caron brand makes Dazzleaire. Try their website for the color you need.

Thank you so much for the heads up about the yarn on eBay. It is the right color number so I’ll try again.

I sent the pattern out to Lightning57 this a.m. I’ll be happy to do the same for anyone else now that I figured out how to get my private messages.

Thank you, thank you, thank you miccisue! I won the pink Dazzleaire you found for me on eBay. And it was a lot less than the previous auction I had bid on. The seller, mel-co, has a bunch of Dazzleaire if anyone else is interested.
