Row 5: Slip 3, p1, *p2, [k1, p1] 3 times, repeat from * to last 4 stitches, p1, k3
I was going to ask how the heck to read this specific to the brackets. Then I stopped myself and scrolled to the grid pattern instead of the written and knitters, I managed to figure it out and am now able to see the beauty of the grid!!

Whoop whoop!
Happy dance for you.
It’s great to suddenly decipher a knitting chart.
What a leap.

Between learning to read your stitches and learning to read the grid - I cannot think of two better knitting tips!!

I agree.
I remember blindly following a pattern, taking no notice of which stitch was producing which bit of the fabric right up until I was expected to co tinge in pattern on my own, oh and put in some decreases. I was stuck for days. Now I make sure to watch what the stitches do so I have a better chance of identifying stitches, and reading my knitting.
You are so right.
