Debbie Bliss patterns

Does Debbie Bliss make any of her patterns for circular needles? I was perusing a book of her baby creations the other day, and everything was for FLAT needles. Blah.

The designs were cute, and I would love to make my daughter a little sweater or cardigan, but all the flat knitting is a little off-putting.

Any thoughts? Do those of you who have tried her patterns like them? Are they fairly well written and user friendly?

Thanks!

Alison

I have not seen any circular DB patterns. (That doesn’t mean they don’t exist, however.)

Her patterns and books look lovely, but the patterns are not particularly well written, in my opinion. I hear lots of people complaining about how confusing the directions are. I’m an experienced knitter, and several times I’ve had to punt, just doing what I thought she meant. If you’re a newer knitter, I wouldn’t recommend them.

You can also convert some of the patterns to circular. For a pullover sweater, just cast on the number of stitches required for both the front and back and subtract four. (These stitches would have normally been the seam allowance.) Have you ever seen the patterns here: http://www.littleturtleknits.com/pages/patterns.php ? They are EXTREMELY user friendly.

I have the Special Knits book and I quite like it. I think it one of her newer books, so maybe that explains the better patterns? I don’t really mind seaming, so I guess the flat needle thing doesn’t bother me. I will say this, if you are good at taking a simple pattern and dressing it up with decorative stitches or other ideas, you don’t need this book. But for design challenge knitters like me, I quite like the simple patterns dressed up to be special.
