Crochet pattern instruction help (to make a 6 petal flower)

Hello everyone! I am brand new here and in need of desparate help help as i am struggling on my own. to understand these crochet instructions. I tried to look on line and on youtube but haven’t found anything similar to this pattern.
Can anyone help me understand how to do this pattern? Thank you so much!

LARGE FLOWER (make 5) Ch 4, join with slip st to form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc in ring. Join with a slip st in beginning ch-3—12 dc.

Round 2: *Ch 5, slip st; repeat from * around, ending with slip st in beginning ch-5—12 loops.

Round 3: Slip st in ch-5 loop, ch 3, 2 dc, 12 tr, 3 dc in same space (beginning petal made), slip st in next ch-5 loop, 3 dc, 12 tr, 3 dc in next ch-5 loop, slip st in next ch-5 loop; repeat from * around, ending slip st in beginning ch3. Fasten off—6 petals.

Ah, easy. You will want to look for doily patterns. They commonly work in the chain space instead of the stitches. That is the big difference for crochet.
I’ll go look about for a video. Once you see it, I think it will click.

This video for the start of a doily uses a chain ring, then DC sts in the ring (not into a stitch).

Thank you so much! Bless You!
It’s row 3 that i am stuck on because it doesn’ t look like the flower on the bottom leaf when i try to crochet it. Its the 2 dc part that has been confusing as to which space to create it.
I will be using the video for help.

Round 3: Slip st in ch-5 loop, ch 3, 2 dc, 12 tr, 3 dc in same space (beginning petal made), slip st in next ch-5 loop, 3 dc, 12 tr, 3 dc in next ch-5 loop, slip st in next ch-5 loop; repeat from * around, ending slip st in beginning ch3. Fasten off—6 petals.

Hi Vchad1! According to the pattern you’ve shared, here’s a better way to look at it:

Work all of the following into the chain 5 loop ( sl st, ch 3, dc 2, tr 12, dc 3) This creates the first petal. Make a sl st in the next ch 5 loop, continue in the next ch 5 loop with the following: ( dc 3, tr 12, dc 3). Make a sl st in the next ch 5 loop and repeat from * around.

From my end, it seems that you should repeat everything that i have in the first parenthesis going around to create 6 petals. However, sometime I bend the rules to create my flowers so I’m not sure. Hope it helps.
