That looks great! If your stitches are too tight, your piece wouldn’t lie as nice and flat as it looks like it is.
Did you block your sqares first, to be sure they’re all the same size? It makes seaming much easier.

Yes I did block them first. Thank you so very much for your advice. The squares have been ready for a few years now, so it is really high time I finish it
