Here is a little swap package I put together for a Harry Potter crafting group I belong to. The theme was “Gardening with the Gnomies” and so I made a Gnome Homeand the Mop Top Mascots to live inside it! 
I slightly felted the house in the washing machine and then needle felted the vine and flowers for some extra embellishments. The larger mascots are made from worsted/aran yarn and the smaller one from light fingering. I thought it would be fun to make a family

Oh so cute and colorful! And, FUN!
I used a fun fur yarn for the hair. You basically crochet a circular “wig” and sew it on to teh head. After attaching it, I took my darning needle tip and pulled out as many of the ends that were caught underneath as I could. Does that make sense? Also, I think how long the extra bits are on the fun fur you use make a difference in how much it stands up when finished.
