Ingrid knit a pair of socks?! Where have I been? :shock:
I used to think that people who knit socks were out of their minds – I just didn’t see the point – but then like Holly I tried it just to see if I could…and wouldn’t you know it, I got hooked 
I do love that when you buy sock yarn, you always know what it’s going to end up as. You don’t have to do a lot of thinking or math to figure out how much you need – it’s pretty standard, so sock yarn is the ideal impulse buy

honestly, i’ve always wondered the same thing. why the obsession with socks? they don’t really look all that fun to make, and i’ve been knitting over a year and still have no desire to make socks. i may try a pair of tubes socks when the time comes, just to be able to say i’ve made them. :shrug:
probably the only way i’ll make them is if somebody asks me to. then again someone already did, and i just said “no, i dont make socks”

the yarn doesn’t have to be expensive—check out Knit Picks…they have sock yarn and it’s REALLY cheap!!! You can make a basic pair of socks from one ball of their yarn…

Honestly, I think socks have such appeal because they look harder than they are, they’re very portable, and reasonably quick to knit. And turning the heel is just magic for a new knitter!
