Does any one know where I might find the pattern for the corkscrew scarf? The scarf requires 3 balls of Noro kureyon. I can’t seem to locate the book or pattern. I could have knitted half the scarf in the time I have spent looking!!
Corkscrew Scarf
Thanks for the link. This could have what I am looking for, I’ll have to wait a few weeks for the release date. That is OK-----hope I won’t need a wool scarf for a few months.
I also found a refernce to “Scarf Style” by Pam Allen. I’ll see what that scarf looks like.
Thanks for helping!
If you can crochet this is this free pattern: http://www.fuzzygalore.biz/patterns/spiral.shtml
oooh - found a free knit one… http://www.knittersreview.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=27751
another crochet: http://www.techchick.lunarpages.com/knottie/crafts/spiral_scarf.shtml
Guess it just depends on what you want to call it!

Thanks, Carol. I unfortunately do not crochet. Knitters Review for some reason does not match my computer settings. I have been there previously, but today I am getting an error message. I will try again later or hire a 10 year old to fix the problem! Thank you for your suggestions.
This is called a potato chip scarf…is it what you are looking for? The pattern is free.

Thank you. The potato chip scarf is smaller than the corkscrew. I appreciate your trying though.
Hi-
The knittersreview forum pattern:
Cast on 90 sts
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Knit into front and back of every stitch
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Knit into front and back of every stitch
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: Knit into front and back of every stitch
Row 7: Knit
Bind off
I used less than two skeins of Trendsetter Dune with #13 needles. Apparently using larger needles and a thinner yarn helps the spirals. Glad you like it!
Obviously I haven’t tried it, so I have no idea if it’s ‘good’. The picture she posted of her finished scarf looked good though.
Carol
woo hooo! that worked! this is the picture from the knitters review page!
Thank you! That pattern looks great. I appreciate all your responses.
FYI: Knittersreview.com was having all sorts of problems on the 18th, but the pattern & everything r up now!
There is one in the Loop di Loop Knitting book.
Look up Curly Whirly on google and youll find a whole bunch of different patterns! :XX:
Dont use Lion Brand WoolEase Thick and Quick to make it though…mine looks all fuzzy and horrible now and I just made it last month!
When I designed the Moonlight Mohair potato chip scarf for Lion Brand, they asked for a knitted version (and they wanted to have it made out of Homespun). Unfortunately they haven’t published the pattern yet. I wish I could give it to you, as it’s quick and different than a lot of the others out there. However, I will say now that had I chosen the yarn I would not have chosen Homespun. It seems to take a long time for them to get the patterns published; I guess they take new designs to trade shows around the country prior to publishing them. I’ll be sure to run here and tell all of you first if/when I see it published, though.
Unfortunately, even though it’s my own pattern I can’t give it out as they purchased the design and now own the rights to it.
There are a lot of corkscrew scarves at the Crystal Palace site:
This is the spiral scarf I did from Lion Brand’s website (sorry- my browser doesn’t let me do active links!):

If for some reason this doesn’t go to the pattern then just go to Lion Brand’s website and do a search for a spiral scarf.
