I’m so confused about how to do a T2F or T2B. First of all, it seems to me that maybe they are called by different names.I mean, are they the same as crossed stitches? I’ve seen the abbreviations C2L or C2R. ( At least, I think so, maybe it’s C2F or C2B I forget). Also, are these twisted sts the same as mini cables? And on YouTube I’ve seen a few different ways to make these T2B and T2F stitches. They either drop both the 1st and 2nd sts off the left needle and scoop up the 2nd stitch with the left needle then the 1st stitch, thereby switching places or they knit into either the front (or back) of the the 2nd stitch then knit into the first st and slide both off the needles (this can be done with purl sts too.) Also, there’s instructions to knit into front or back of the 2nd st, then PURL into the first stitch and drop both off the left needle. This is so confusing! Thanks for any help.
Yes, there are different names for basically the same thing. It is a a twisted stitch or a 2 stitch cable but different patterns may recommend different ways to work these. If your pattern defines the T2F and T2B, then use that definition.
What is the name of your pattern?
Actually I’m not following a particular pattern, just playing around. I’ll keep my eyes out for patterns that explain how the T2B and T2F are worked, at least in that particular pattern. I’ve been coming across patterns that do not explain how these sts are worked though, and that’s frustrating because that leaves things open to interpretation. Thanks for clarifying this issue, at least I know the real scoop now!
