Confusing pattern directions....HELP!

“Dec 1 st at each end of next and 4 foll 8th rows. 82 sts. Work 6 rows, ending with a RS row.”

OK-I understand that I decrease 1 stitch at each end on the next row but what the heck does “4 following 8th rows”?? Is it a decrease of 4 sts. following the 8th row? There is no 8th row—it’s only asking me to do 6 rows! ? I looked for pattern correction but there are none posted. It’s a total decrease of 10 stitches because I’m going from 92 sts. to 82 sts. ? Does anyone have a clue? Huh.

Dec on the next row and every 8th row after that 4 times, [I]then[/I] work 6 more rows.

I’ll give it a shot. So basically, I’m doing 24 rows (dec a total of 10 sts within these rows) and then 6 more rows, right?

No, dec on the next row, then work 32 more rows (4 times 8 rows) then another 6 rows. There are 5 decrease rows that have a dec at the beg and one at the end.
