Making a baby sweater with button at the neck. I have 5 stitches on my needle.
Shoulder Edging:
Commence with 1st row of 1X1 rib, work 1 row.
Next row: Rib 2, cast off 1 st, rib 1 (this doesn’t make sense to me because I have 5 stitches on my needle. I"m thinking I am making a button hole)
Next row: Rib 2, cast on 1 stitch, rib 2
Work 1 row in rib
Cast off in rib.
Can you post a link to the pattern and tell us what line it is? It might be an error. This is what I think it should be, but seeing the pattern will help.
k1, p1, k1, p1, pass p1 over previous k1 then k1. The button is in the middle with 2 stitches on either side. (4 sts)
Turn and p1, k1, M1, k1, p1 (5 sts again)
Does that fit and make sense?
Thank you

2nd page: row 10 (shoulder edging for the front of the round neck sweater)
Your suggestion makes sense to me. I don’t understand how I was supposed to know how to do that.
I’m sorry but I don’t have a link to the pattern.
Is this it? Cute.
Can’t see the pattern of course, but I think my answer is correct.
Yes. That is the pattern.
Your suggestion worked perfectly. Thank you so much. I had been really stuck.
You’re welcome! Glad I could help.
