I’m trying to do my first cable knit jumper. On the instructions it says *increase 1 stitch, pattern 3 repeat from * twice more. Increase 1 stitch pattern to end.
I get the increase 1 stitch piece but am confused about the pattern 3 repeat? ! Any ideas? Other than the cable pattern I can’t see any other patterns on the instructions? I have attached a screen shot of the relevant instructions. These are for the front section.

The increase is going to adjust for the cable and stockinette stitch pattern. Since the increase row starts with knitting across the given number of sts for your size, you could continue in knit stitch. The main idea is to distribute the 4 increases across the row.
