Cluster stitch count for each row and section

Please I need help as I’m having issues working out how many cluster stitches I should have in each row and section (front/back/shoulder) following the increases. The pattern has a video attached in Italian so it’s a bit tricky to follow. I’ve posted photos of rows 1-3 for guidance.

Thank you

What is the name of your pattern and designer?

@ColoCro @GrumpyGramma @OffJumpsJack @okckwilter Would you take a look and please advise?

Hi.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve just heard back from the designer who has helped with my project and answered the questions I had.

I’m glad you’re in touch with the designer, because that’s rather awkwardly written. It would have been tidier to define the different sorts of cluster in the front matter, rather than writing out so much every time it comes up. Too many words can be MORE confusing!

I totally agree Colocro! I’m an experienced crocheter and found the instructions for what has turned out to be a simple pattern quite confusing. I’m not sure If that is due to the designer being Italian and translating the pattern to English or it’s poorly written to start with?

I ended up frogging what I had already made and starting again writing down my own stitch count to keep tabs on where I should be at. I just hope the rest of the pattern is not so going to be confusing.

I’m hesitant to buy another pattern I like by this designer for this reason. She goes by Noral crochet.

It could indeed be translation issues, or different conventions in Italian patterns. I have a favorite Swedish crochet designer (mijocrochet.se), and while her patterns are very well-written, with plenty of photos, and she has testers for all the languages she uses, sometimes they are just more wordy than English patterns. Like there isn’t a Swedish term for V-stitch, so it’s always written out. Maybe that’s the case with the Italian clusters.

I’m steaming ahead now with this pattern! I’ll be wary though of the European designers as it may be the case with many making patterns more complex than they need to be…… But if I fall in love with a particular pattern it may still be with the headache of deciphering! Ha ha!

Thanks again for your help. Have a great week :slight_smile:
