Clover Steel Soft Touch Crochet Hooks size info

Just thought I’d pass on this information about the sizing differences in these steel hooks in case anyone was interested in purchasing. Clover uses a Japanese sizing system, so a Size 4 steel hook (Bates) for example, would be size 0 for them! I just ordered one. Has anyone tried them yet? The ergonomic design is supposed to be easier on the hands.

Size 14 ~ .50mm / no US comparison / size 80-100 thread

Size 12 ~ .60mm / no US comparison / 70-80 thread

Size 10 ~ .75mm / = Boye size 14 / size 50-80 thread

Size 8 ~ 90mm / = Bates size 14 / size 40-60 thread

Size 6 ~ 1.00mm / = Boye/Bates size 12 / size 20-30 thread

Size 4 ~ 1.25mm / = Bates size 9 / size 18-30 thread

Size 2 ~ 1.50mm / = Boye size 8 / Bates size 7 / size 10-20 thread

Size 0 ~ 1.75mm / = Bates size 4 / size 8-18 thread

I have been using these for ages… they are so much easier on your hands… Now I can barely stand to use anything else…totally spoiled.
