Cleaning handmade angora sweater

I knitted an angora sweater in the mid-60’s and have not ever been able to find out how to care for it, i.e. clean it. It still is in excellent shape but has not been cleaned. What is the best way to do this, does anybody know? The yarn used is 100% angora rabbit. Thanks in advance.:knitting:

I knitted a part-angora, part-wool jumper recently and the instructions I think are for hand. I would recommend by hand, not-too-warm water, air dry, I think you generally can’t go wrong with that. Use a mild shampoo (but an adult shampoo) instead of soap.

I have made a couple of angora sweaters over a decade ago and have done fine just handwashing in lukewarm water with a capful of woolite. I press dry in a bath towel and lay out on a sweater rack to dry.
