I’m knitting a hat. I started on circulars just fine. I encountered a problem when I switched to dpk’s. On circulars, the right side of the hat had been facing outside. When I switched to dpk’s, the right side of the hat switched to the inside. So, for the majority of the hat you can see the knits (the right side) but the end of the hat you can see the purls (the wrong side). Please help! I don’t know what I did wrong and I don’t want to do it again when I try this hat again!
Circular to dpk problem
Since you had started fine you just started knitting backwards most likely. Make sure the working yarn is coming from the needle to the right of needle holding the stitches you are going to work. Just like when you’re knitting on a circular the working yarn is coming from the right. Hold the work so the needles are near you and the loop of knitting is away.
You probably changed direction, so just take out what you knit on the dpns and then, just knit off the circ onto the dpns. You don’t have to slip or transfer sts from one to the other.
