I’ve just started my first socks-on-circular-needles project, and so far I’m loving it. However, I have a question: How do I straighten the cords of the circular needles? The cords are pretty fine (size 2 needles) and have been curled in the package for who-knows-how-long???
I remember reading somewhere a hint for getting rid of the curl in the cord – but I don’t remember where I read it or what the hint was!
Any suggestions???
You can dip the cord in very hot water and then hold them straight until they cool; or a hair dryer is supposed to work, too.
I have held the cord over the steam of a boiling kettle and straightened it.
And don’t re-curl them for storage or you’ll have to straighten them again when you pull them out to use again.
