Circular needles

Hi ladies, after much hesitation I decided to give the ranunculus a go. My initial needle length was too long so had to start again. I’m now starting the yoke and realise I need to switch back to the longer length needle. How do I do this without “twisting” anything?

Can someone explain step by step how to do this. I know it’s just transferring stitches but I’m confused.

PS: lots of mistakes already made but it’s more getting used to knitting with circulars.

It’s good to have a challenge.

It shouldn’t twist. I know there is a risk of twisting when you first cast on and join in the round but now you have fabric on the needles everything should run along smoothly.

Is it the needle tip (interchangable tips) you need to change or is it the cable length (interchangeable needle tip needed but moved onto longer cable) or is it a totally different needle and cable (fixed circular needle, the tip doesn’t detach from the cable) you want to move on to?

If we know which we can probably answer more precisely.

Such a pretty and popular pattern!
The easiest way to change to the longer needle is to knit (or purl) the sts onto the new needle. If you’re knitting in the round the sts won’t be twisted. You’re just continuing the round.
If you’re at a point where you’re knitting back and forth but about to join in the round, check that the sts line up and aren’t twisted as you would when knitting a hat.
Or maybe I’m misunderstaning your question?

Sorry, should have clarified it better. It’s a fixed circular needle that you can’t detach.

Then, as salmonmac said, just start knitting wih it.
I’d suggest a needle stopper at the end you are not using on the new working needle, then you know the sts won’t pop off. Slip your beginning of round marker onto the new working needle and start knitting.
It may help to position the new needle cable sort of around in the same direction as the one youre working off, this isn’t a vital step but i would find it helpful.
You’ll end up with all the sts on the new needle.
