I thought this might be a good advanced beginner pattern to try with circular needles. My question is about the dpns…
In this pattern, when it says “start the decreases” does that mean I switch to the dpns? Any helpful tips would be appreciated! - bethie
Directions
With the circular needle, cast on 70 sts.
Join, being careful not to twist
- K1, P1 * repeat to end of row.
Work previous row for 3 more rows.
K every round until hat measures 5.5 inches from cast on edge.
Start the Decreases
K 2 k 2 tog repeat to end of row.
Knit 5 rows
K 2 k 2 tog repeat to end of row.
Knit 3 rows.
K 1, k 2 tog repeat to end of row.
Knit 2 rows.
K 2 tog repeat to end of row.
Break yarn, and using a darning needle, gather remaining stitches. Weave in end of yarn.
