I’m trying to knit this hat right now and I was wondering at the end it says to switch to double pointed needles when it gets too small for the circular needle. Is there any other way to do this because I don’t know how to use dpn’s. Can you just somehow switch to regular needles?
On this page http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/advanced_techniques/ you will find videos of various methods of small diameter circular knitting. If you don’t know how to do dpns, you could use either magic loop or two circulars. All of them take a bit of getting used to so you can take your pick! Let us know how it goes and ask for more help if you like. You can’t switch to regular needles because then you wouldn’t be knitting in the round.
