Chunky Ribbed Hat

I taught my little sister how to knit a few weeks ago, and she wanted to make a hat. We both bought some Wool-ease Chunky yarn. I took mine home and worked on making up a cool hat with a pretty easy pattern so she could follow it.

This is what I came up with.

I’d consider this an advanced beginner project. It requires the use of a circular needle and double pointed needles. You’ll need to know how to both knit and purl (plus knit two together and purl two together).

You can find the full pattern here.

 very nice!

Aren’t you a good sister! :cheering:

 I love the hat  Thanks so much for sharing your pattern

That came out nice!

Thank you SO much for sharing that pattern with us. It’s the exact style I’ve been wanting to knit for my stepgrandsons for next winter. They’re 8 & 9, though the 9yo is about to be 10, and the 8 yo is bigger than the 9yo. In other words, I think they look about the size of the cutie in your picture, so it should be a great size for them.

I’ve found similar styles that were either knit flat, or called for worsted weight yarn. I’m not experienced enough yet to know how to convert to knitting a flat pattern in the round, or to figure out the difference in converting yarn weights. Your pattern should be perfect for my needs! :cheering:

Jess, Thank you! My son is gona love this! (In Red!)

You did a beautiful job!
