Changing Needles sizes when doing magic loop

Hi All,
I recently learned the magic loop. My current pattern calls for me to go up a needle size but I can’t quite figure out how to do that using the magic loop.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks Squeakee :knitting:

Just start knitting the round with the larger needle and loop it when you knit the second set of sts. Then all the needles will be on the larger one.

Thanks Sue, but if my needles end of going in opposite directions what am I doing wrong?

I did this a lot when first starting out on magic loop…Take the new needle through the first part of your sts and slide to the other end, bend the needle in half so you are ready for the other sts…you can then slide them down on the old needle so they are ready to come off onto the tip they need

Are you starting in the middle of the round or at the beginning? If you start at the beginning of the round with the larger needle, knit the first set of sts just the same as if you were still using the smaller needle, then go on to knit the second set of sts with the larger needle, you should be back at the beg of the round with the sts all on the bigger needle and the smaller needle empty.
